After analyzing the fan base of a well-established music venue, it was discovered that 75% of the fan base was more than 100 miles away, too far to drive down for a show they wanted to see. With only 145 seats in the venue, most shows were selling out and many patrons were being turned away. Box 6 Marketing took this data and sought a solution to solve both issues at once. Within a few months, The Station Inn announced high definition broadcasting via Station Inn TV, a subscription-based streaming platform for live music from Nashville, Tennessee, live to the world. The project paid for all investment costs within 15 months of launch. More than 300 shows have been broadcasted to subscribers in 15 countries and Station Inn TV has been featured repeatedly in national media. This entirely new revenue channel for the venue carried the business through a six month lockdown during the 2020 pandemic, as well as established the venue as a technology innovator to other music venues across the world. Now, Station Inn TV generates revenue through subscriptions, pay-per-view, facility and equipment rental to record music videos, and sponsorship opportunities from shows.
